*We had a very good stay in Amafu. The accommodation was really good, with 2 large bedrooms and a large living room including kitchen. The view was really amazing. We enjoyed it very much.
The host is very friendly, and so are his employees. If you like, you can enjoy breakfast and dinner for a good price.
The location is just nearby Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre (at night and in the evening you could hear the roaring of the lions of Moholoholo) and the Blyderivierspoortdam, where you can walk some beautiful trails. Orpen Gate at Kruger Park is a one hour’s drive from the lodge.

*We where so pleased to meet Steve, his wife, Neily and Pledge that was on the top to welcome and guide us for our trip in Blide River.
Guest facilities and houses are wonderful, very charming and so comfortable.
Each night the hosts give their best to offer a moment based on an excellent quality and tasty food, big fire to share with other guests … a true inside country experience, very simple but deep !
Special mention for the choice of Steve selection wine that buid his own wordwilde celar Wine with passion.
Thanks again for everything and also many thanks for all the staf cares.

*We had a very memorable stay here – which was one of our highlights on a three-week tour around South Africa. The hosts and staff were so friendly and made us really feel at home throughout a three-night stay and it was like being part of a family. There is a welcoming and honest African ‘informality’ about the Lodge – such as us being invited to join the Lodge owner’s family for a Braai (BBQ) and sit by the fire, or just helping yourself to the bar (with an honesty list for billing at the end) – that is ever so welcoming and enjoyable, even more so than any luxury hotels we have experienced. We hope that you have the chance to experience this yourself too!

*we spent 2 nights at Amafu because it’s conveniently located close to Hoedspruit airport and the Blyde River Canyon. The lodge itself was very nicely done, staff was always welcoming and accommodating. They always had something to eat ready for us when we returned from our excursions. Love the outdoor shower! We wish we had had some more time to explore the lodge and the surrounding garden, pool etc.

*Best kept secret in the country. Really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to anyone, while hoping it stays a secret venue to get away and meet foreign tourists. Friendly staff and the owners and managers become your friends.
*We booked from 1st Jan but managed to get off a day earlier, and were told, just come we will make a plan! That was the atmosphere of the whole stay! They always went out of their way, and nothing was too much trouble!
*We had a fantastic stay at Amafu Forest Lodge. The lodge is well located up against the mountain with some breathtaking views; the lodge garden itself is beautiful! A very relaxing place.
*Coolest tents I have stayed in. They have Air Conditioning showers and everything you would have in a room but up on a hill and in a tent. Hosts were more than welcoming and would go back in a heartbeat. Already miss the place.
*Amafu Forest Lodge is a fabulous place to stay. The food is simple home cooking and very filling. The setting is stunning, and so relaxing. The accommodations were great, with comfortable beds and lounge area. There was a lovely pool (too cold for our stay unfortunately). The owners are extremely accommodating, allowing me to use the office for completing some work I had to do. Nothing was too much trouble.
*Lovely, relaxing, food for the soul! Thx to Steve and his wife, we had a great time!!! Looking forward to seeing you soon, bringing the whole family next time. Kids gonna love that lovely pool and garden while we have a braai on the stoep.
*Chalets cascading down the mountain in between ancient trees. Stunning luxury tents at the top with views down to the escarpment and infinity beyond the horizon.
*We had the opportunity of spending a week at this lodge. It is in an amazing location with great views of the Lowveld. The cottages are very spacious and well equipped. The hosts spent a lot of time with us and Steve’s cooking is tremendous with a great variety of food.
*We booked a few days at Amafu Forest Lodge over December 2013- and WOW!!! What an amazing place! It is super-clean, comfortable and just so wonderfully centrally located. The owners are fantastic and very “hands-on!” The restaurant served us lovely meals and the bar- always fully stocked! We will definitely be back- a lot sooner than expected!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
*The views were spectacular and the rim flow pool very inviting after a long day’s riding. The place is awesome, clean and tidy and everything you’d expect from a top class establishment. It is very centrally located and perfect for a base from which to explore the Blyde River Canyon and surrounding attractions. I definitely recommend staying here.
*We were made to feel so welcome and all of our needs were met and attended to. The first order of the evening after parking the bikes was a swim in the pool and a beer with the fantastic view. The owners and staff have such a love and knowledge of the area and really do make this a worth while place to stay. The food is awesome too.
*Wow, what a beautiful place, the views are breathtaking and the rooms are very comfortable. After being on a bike for a few days it was the best way to recharge, take a swim in the rim flow pool, drink a beer by the fire and get a great meal. The owners were great, and went out of their way to make our stay there wonderful.
*We spent our honeymoon at Amafu Forest Lodge, and it was spectacular! We got to experience monkeys on the roof and the sounds of the wild at night (lions roaring and hyenas from the neighbouring Moholoholo Rehab Centre), and then of course the seclusion and quietness of the Cupi Cottage in the forest. The owners are lovely people, and they truly made our stay one for the books – they were always friendly, accommodating and full of life and laughs. Our honeymoon would not have been the same without them. Everything, from breakfast to our packed picnic lunches to the three course dinners was sublime! We will be back! Thanks to all at Amafu 🙂
*Wonderful lodge! I traveled from San Francisco to visit SA for a month and my stay at the Amafu Lodge was far and away the highlight. The villas are huge and well appointed with proper spacing and privacy between them. Ours came with its own picnic bench and BBQ, which we made full use of.
